Ch-Ch-Ch Changes

The Jets finally have a new QB. Hooray. C’mon, 3 points against the Bills. You’ve got to make the switch. David Harris filling in for Vilma - 17 tackles. A much better fit in the 3-4. too bad they didn’t trade Vilma and get something of value for him before the injury. Now what will they get? A 6th round pick. Typical Jets and I thought Mangini would change that, but he’s looked as lost as Kotite at times.

And Still the QB

The big news today? Chad is still the QB. Why why why why why why why? Mangenuis says it’s because Chad saw so many checks and performed and moved the team down the field and scored. Yeah. Against the Bengals. That juggernaut defense from Cinncinnati. How are they ever going to know if Clemens can read the checks if they don’t give him the chance to do it? And what better time than now, when they are out of it. I just don’t get it.

Hello. I’m calling out to all of the NY sports teams. Can any of you do something to make us proud? I have had just about enough of all this air time that Boston is getting lately. If I have to keep seeing reports on the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics and BC, I’m going to puke. Can any of our teams step up to the plate. Please. It’s getting nauseating.

Is Baker Hurt?

Is Chris Baker really hurt or is he being punished by the petty GM/Coach management. These two take their ball and go home more than anyone I’ve ever seen, without thinking twice about the peril they keep putting their team in by acting like such babies, first with Pete Kendall and now Chris Baker.

I mean, he was fine enough for a couple days after the game to run his mouth and not mention anything about an injury and then all of the sudden, his back goes and he’s slowly donwgraded all week until he’s not making the trip any more. Look for him to be traded or let go this week. Yeah that’ll show him. The Patriots will probably pick him up to replace Watson. Yeah, that’ll show him.

Grow up Coach/GM or no one is going to want to play for you.

Who cares about the game today. 30-27 Bengals.

Same Ole

Same ole same ole with the Jets. Chad is still the QB for what reason, I don’t know, unless they are a team that doesn’t have aspirations to ever win a Super Bowl.

4-3/3-4

Offensive Line.

Blah blah blah

I mean The Jets are getting just about as boring to write about as can possibly be. Why keep starting Chad, I have to ask again? Is it not obvious to the coaching staff that a Super Bowl will never be won with Chad as QB? Clemens we don’t know, but we need to find out ASAP. Once again. I love Chad, but now is the time. Where does anyone think this season is going?

So staying on Football, I just have to get this out there so I get the credit for it. First of all, another big shout out to my Alma Mater The USF Bulls. NO.2 in the BCS. Unbelievable.

And now for what I need to get out there. The playoffs for college football. Right now you ahve the 4 major bowls and the BCS title game. If you add two more games, take the top 8 as determined by the computer and put them in a playoff, this would be such a bigger cash cow for the NCAA their heads would explode. As it is, I pretty much only watch the Championship game. I used to be into the other bowls… When they mattered, but now that they don’t, they are dead to me, just as I’m sure they are to a lot of casual fans. But makes those bowl games as part of playoff to move on, and all of a sudden I’m watching. So 8 teams, 4 games the first week, 2 the second and then the championship. One more major bowl added and a little over 1 more week to the season since the championship game is now like 3 days after Jan. 1. It’s so simple. and so money making, I can’t believe the NC$$ would pass it up.

Play Clemens

Sit him down. As I’ve said, I think Chad has a big heart, and is a smart QB and can lead a team to the playoffs, but will never win the big one, and correct me if I’m wrong, but that is why you play the game. To win the Super Bowl, not get to the playoffs. Just ask Herm. Why are they starting him again this week? The playoffs aren’t happening and it is by far not only Chad’s fault. It is the offense, the defense and the coach all combined. So play Clemens and see what you got. Better to know now. With the high pick the team will have, they may need to take another QB instead of a bust OL.

Chad Bombs Out

It could be a long day for The Jets offensive line today, especially if The giants D line played like it did last week. It’s funny, but before last week I would have said the Jets will win this game easily and after last week I have to feel like the Giants will win it easily.

At least we know where our QB stands. He will not throw the ball long just to show people, especially in the media, that he can. That’s all fine and dandy but how ’bout throwing long to loosen up the defense? How ’bout throwing long to get the dormant running game going? How ’bout throwing long to make the only part of the offense that has been somewhat effective this year, the short passing game, even more effective? Sounds to me like someone who can’t throw long coming up with excuses as to why he doesn’t.

Giants 20 Jets 10

With the Giants blue wave defensive line on tap next and a long day for Chad running for his life on the horizon, I just wanted to say something about Jet QB’s over the years. Joe Namath could run in college, he ran an option at Bama, but knee injuries prevented him from being able to move in the NFL. But what about all the other QB’s since him? How come the Jets can never have a QB who can run at least a little. I mean Richard Toddd, Ken O’brien, Vinny Testaverde, Chad Pennington all of these guys move or moved like a grandmother with arthritis. How does this happen? Weren’t NFL QB’s the shortstops, point guards and QB’s in HS? Weren’t they the best athlete in the state? If so, how come the Jets always wind up getting the guy who wasn’t? I just don’t understand it. There are all kind of athletic QB’s out there but there never seems to be one for gang green. I mean watching Pennington run and then try to spike the ball is painful. Kenny O’Brien was even worse. When will it end? Can Klemens run? I can run, how come these guys can’t?

Welp, yesterday was another lackluster performance in what I am afraid is going to be a season full of them. The defense only gave up 17 points you say? Yeah, but that was almost the total number of points the Bills had scored on the season prior to getting to feast on the Jets D. The offense is miserable. I mean yeah, Chad is a great leader, and he is a smart QB in the no huddle, but he absolutely just throws some butterflies out there. His arm strength is really ridiculous for a pro QB. Thomas Jones can’t run, because everyone on defense is stacked up in the box because there is no threat of a long ball, oh, and because the offensive line is in shambles because of a stubborn front office. I believe three things need to change before the Jets can think about competing for a title.

1) They need to either switch to the 4-3 defense or get rid of the personel now who don’t fit into it and get some who do.

2) They need to upgrade their offensive line, which might simply take just getting someone, anyone to replace Kendall.

3) They need a QB with an arm. I love Chad, but as I’ve said before, he may be able to get them to the playoffs, but they will never win a Super Bowl with him as QB. And after all, that is the point, right? To win the Super Bowl.

On a game note, I would have tried the 56 yarder instead of one more play at the end, which wound up in an interception. All the Bills had to do basically was line their defense up and down each sideline, which is pretty much what happened and the result was a pick. Nugent has the leg for it and if he hit it straight we had a chance there, but with the time on the clock and no time outs, I thought it was too big a chance to go for a few more yards. Turns out I was right.
